Coney Island is a peninsula in the southernmost Brooklyn, New York City, USA, which has a famous beach on the Atlantic Ocean. As the name implies, this peninsula was once an island and is connected to the main land to the land reclamation. This region is home to the big resorts and amusement parks that reached its peak during the first half of the 20th century. Its popularity declined after World War II and neglect over the years. In recent years, this area has been opened in MCU Park and became the basis of a small Brooklyn Cyclones baseball team.
